COVID-19 FAQs

We are a team and in order to give our patients a piece of mind, we need to be unified about questions being asked from our patients. As healthcare providers, we need to point to our community in the right direction! Below are common questions being asked and the best way to respond to set us all up for success.

Is it safe to return to our dental appointments?

Absolutely! We are ALSO a healthcare facility. We’re already exceeding all cleanliness and safety protocols. This is NOTHING new to us. We understand the concern and uncertainty you may be experiencing surrounding the coronavirus (COVID-19) and are committed to being responsive to the needs of our patients as the situation evolves.

We have added some enhanced infection control procedures including screening every patient and team member for any signs or symptoms of illness, lobby is only open to a max of three patients at a time, bathrooms are cleaned every hour, we are also using hypochlorous acid to clean and we also run an ozone machine every night.

What should I expect at my next appointment?

  1. Please call the office when you arrive and the front office will give you further instructions from there.
  2. Please limit extra companions during your visit. The patient that is being treated is the only patient allowed to enter the office, unless the patient is underage.
  3. We will take your temperature when you arrive at the office.
  4. Employees will have their temperatures taken every morning.
  5. A pre-screening questionnaire will be done upon arrival in the vehicle.
  6. Coffee and water will not be provided.

What NEW precautions has Vitality Dental taken to keep me safe during the pandemic?

We have added some enhanced infection control procedures including screening every patient and team member for any signs or symptoms of illness. Along with our daily protocol of abiding by OSHA guidelines, we’ve also increased hand washing frequency, wiping down all counters, keyboards, office areas, and high touch areas throughout the day.  Our lobby is currently limited, we have limited companions in the office, and take temperatures of employees and patients that come into the office.

What types of dental work can I have done during this time?

Any dental work! Remember, we are ALSO a healthcare facility. We’re already exceeding all cleanliness and safety protocols. This is NOTHING new to us. We understand the concern and uncertainty you may be experiencing surrounding the coronavirus (COVID-19) and are committed to being responsive to the needs of our patients as the situation evolves.

I’m choosing to quarantine and not go anywhere right now. So, a hygiene appointment is not on my radar. Why is it important for me to have my hygiene appointments right now?

Your oral health is more important now than ever. Maintaining excellent dental care routines and habits can improve immunity and protect your overall health, which is so important right now.

Regular exams with the dentists and annual hygiene cleanings scheduled are highly recommended to ensure that we can evaluate your teeth and gums before bacteria and disease lead to bigger health problems, and potentially expensive procedures.
